One of the cool things to see when visiting SD is the neat collection of original and reproduction ships curated by the San Diego Maritime Museum. This is one of their ships, a topsail schooner replica of the 1847 revenue cutter CW Lawrence the patrolled the waters of the California coast back during the days of the gold rush. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! was built back in 1984 to celebrate the Olympics in LA and has since been designated as the official tall ship of the State of California.
SD Maritime Museum offers half-day cruises on the ship so you can experience firsthand sailing of a bygone era. She also goes on longer coastal tours up to San Francisco and Catalina.
